Nritya Vidya Nilaya
The Institution was started in the year 1986 in Mumbai. The parent organization “Nritya Vidya Nilaya” was established in the year 1940 in Mangalore by Karnataka Kala Tilaka late. Shri U S Krishna Rao at Kadri, who was conferred many titles by Govt. of Karnataka including the top most title of Natya Rani Sahntala award in recognition of his yeomen service in the field of dance and music.
Over the years, the Institution had trained thousands of students in Mangalore.
All the 5 children of shri U S Krishna Rao are continuing the tradition of this dance form in Mangalore,Bangalore and Mumbai.
Smt. Shailja Madhusoodan, 2nd daughter of Shri U S Krishna Rao founded her dance Institution in the same name of the parent Institution at Mumbai in the year 1986. The Institution is imparting training in classical dance and music in Mumbai since then. More than 30 of its students have performed their Arangetram. The Institution has produced many dance dramas both in Kannada and Hindi and presented several Programs all over India and abroad. The Institution is conducting dance and music classes in Bhandup, Mulund and Powai.
The Institution will be celebrating its silver Jubilee in the year 2011.
